A BRILLIANT second half display earned Merlins Bridge a comfortable six-goal victory against fourth from bottom Monkton Swifts.
The Wizards are third in the table and are five points behind leaders Hakin United, who have a game in hand. Peter Thomas opened the scoring in 24th minute, the defender unleashing an edge of the area shot that flew in the top corner. Striker Nathan Greene added a second goal ten minutes before the break.
Mark Powell’s Swifts outfit were under cosh in the second period as the Wizards cranked up the pressure. Nathan Thomas added the third and there were further goals by skipper Stephen McNabney with a brace and Dai Davies.
