Both Whitland and Haverfordwest Ladies are through to the semi finals of their respective Super Cup competitions after enjoying big wins on Sunday.

In the main competition, the Borderettes booked thier slot in the semi finals with a comprehensive 83-0 win over Barry at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn.

The pace and power of the home side was too much for the Barry Bombettes. The tries came at regular intervals in the first half and Sioned Harries, back from Welsh international duties, grabbed four of them.

Player of the match Mari Griffiths crossed for two and her twin Caryl also grabbed one, as did hooker Delyth Davies, and winger Heather Rees. Full back Cath Davies added six conversions to leave the half time score 52-0.

The Borderettes were able to introduce the likes of Karen Mayze, Natalie Walsh and Hannah Samson off the bench for the second half.

The front row of Ceris Moyle, Davies and Aimee Jones dominated the scrum so there was a constant stream of possession which resulted in further tries from Mari Griffiths (2), bringing her tally to four and a further brace for Rees to bring up her hat trick.

The scoring was rounded off by veteran centre Mayze with Cath Davies adding another three conversions.

Whitland will face the winner of the Pontyclun and Caernarfon match at Parc Llwyn Ty Gwyn on Sunday, April 26, with kick off at 2.30pm.

In the Plate competition, Haverfordwest hammered Nantyffyllon 70-0 at Merlins Bridge.
