ROSEMARKET Golf Club Captain Adam Rogers held his away day last Friday at Milford Haven Golf Club. There was an excellent turnout with plenty of sunshine after some early morning drizzle.

Winning with an excellent 41pts was Mark Britton, runner up Luke Young 38pts, third Mark McCormack 37pts, fourth Harley Holmes 36pts and fifth Rob Pratt 35pts. Ladies winner was Alison McCormack 32pts, runner up Jayne Morgan 31pts, third Sue Bradford 22pts, fourth Amber Deakin 21pts, fifth Marilyn Rawlings 20pts. Winning senior was Peter Morgan 28pts beating Clive Richards on count back. Winning guest was Lee "Tiger" Davies. Twos winners were Des Potter hole 6 and 10, Jayne Morgan hole 4, Tony Deakin hole 10, Alex James, Bryn Lewis and Rob Pratt hole 16.

The Seniors played the Ron Waters Scratch Medal Trophy last Tuesday. The course had dried out after the heavy rain at the weekend and the weather was fine, but there was a very strong wind which challenged the players. The Division 1 winner with a score of 100 was John C Davies and the winner in Division 2 was Dan Scales with a score of 104.

The member with the lowest score and winner of the Ron Water Trophy was Vivian Thomas who came in with an excellent score of 93. Roger Scrimshaw was overall second on 95 and Barrie Yelland overall third on 100.There were 2 Twos recorded, both on the 7th hole, by the Seniors’ Captain Colin Rogers and by Mike Butler.

The ladies played the Summer League Stableford Competition on Monday over 9 holes. Alison McCormack was the winner, with runner up Jayne Morgan beating Marilyn Rawlings on count back. Third was Rose Taylor, fourth Sarah Browning and fifth Jean Bradford beating Sue Bradford on count back. Longest Drive was won by Sue Bradford. The seniors also played the Seniors Memorial Trophy and in overall third place was Jim McIntyre, beating Ron Nash on count back with 32pts. In second place was Roger Scrimshaw with 34pts and the winner, with 36 pts was Gordon Manwaring. The winner of the Presidents Putter on Saturday was Colin Sharpe with a nett 70, runner up was Clive Richards nett 71, third Barrie Yelland nett 73, fourth beating Dave Pink on count back with a nett 75 was Adam Reynolds. Twos winner were Chris Llewellyn. All members played in the Shirley Matthews Memorial Trophy on Sunday the winner with 39pts was Geraint Hughes runner up beating Andrew Davies on count back was Adam Reynolds fourth was John Lewis 34pts fifth Dave Pink 33pts.
