ROSEMARKET Golf Club held its annual open day last Saturday.

There was an excellent turnout of 19 teams of members and guests competing in a Texas Scramble. Members winners were John Lewis, Scotty Martin and Gary Lloyd with a nett 62.7, runners up Colin Sharpe, Jock Wilson and Luke Young with a nett 63, third Mark Britton, Peter Morgan and Mark McCormack with a nett 64.3. Member and Guest winners were Matthew Hobbs, Callum Tree and Liam Eaton nett 57.8, runners up Alex James, Ben Fairbrother and Andy Chapman nett 60.2. The ladies played in the annual Mowbray Cup. The winner with 32pts was Alison McCormack, runner up Amber Deakin 30pts, third Rose Taylor 29pts, fourth Kate Waldeis 26pts, fifth Jayne Morgan 25pts. Ladies’ captain Marilyn Rawlings thanked the members for supporting the competition and Tracey Young for providing a delicious meal in the clubhouse after the event. The seniors played for the Bryan and Gwenda Mason Shield, winning with 36pts was Kenny Davies, runner up Paul Jones 33pts, third Alan Bowsher 32pts beating Dan Scale on count back, fifth Roger Scrimshaw 31pts. The junior captain Luke Young held his captain’s away day on Friday at Haverfordwest Golf Club. Monthly medal winners were gents Scotty Martin nett 72, runner up Adam Reynolds nett 73, third Tom Strand nett 75, fourth Alex Young, fifth Alex James nett 76 beating Luke Young and Barrie Yelland on count back. Ladies’ winner was Alison McCormack nett 83, runner up Jayne Morgan nett 85. Twos winners were Scotty Martin hole 7 and Barrie Yelland hole 16.
