WRU Women's Division One:

Haverfordwest Ladies 50-15 Ynysybwl Ladies

Four tries by debutant Helen Finnan ensured a convincing home win for Haverfordwest over Ynysybwl in WRU Division One on Sunday.

The two sides were no strangers having both gained promotion last season, and both were looking for revenge having lost to each other on home soil.

Playing in poor conditions, Haverfordwest produced some of their most clinical rugby to date, with the visitors unable to live with the pace of an exciting home backline.

Finnan touched down twice in the first half, along with Emily Carrington and Rachel Finnan.

Ynysybwl competed well at the breakdown and responded with two tries of their own before the half time whistle.

The weather improved in the second half as did Haverfordwest's performance, with two more tries coming from Finnan, and there were further scores for Nina Colville and Joanna Price - whose trusty boot kicked five conversions.

To their credit, Ynysybwl fought hard until the end and were rewarded with a consolation third try.

Haverfordwest's woman of the match was hooker Maria Phillips, and coach Ben John said: β€œIt was a really complete performance. The skill set we showed in such bad conditions was excellent and we dealt with a very, very physical side well.”

Haverfordwest will travel to Ynysddu this Sunday, November 13, for their next fixture.
