DR Morris Cup Round One:

Llangwm (132 all out) lost to Carew (132-5) in a super over

THERE was a remarkable tie at Pill Parks last night as Carew beat Llangwm – but only after each side needed a super over after finishing on an identical score.

The Rooks then went first in the sudden death finale, and Tom Scourfield hit 10 not out as they made 12, before Shaun Whitfield restricted Llangwm to just 5 with a superb six balls under pressure.

The home side had batted first on the night and there were useful knocks from opener Will Beresford (27) and James Venables (64)  - but they didn’t use up their full 20 overs as they were skittled out by Tom Davies (4-28), Ceri Brace (1-24), James Hinchliffe (3-8), and Whitfield (2-18).

Remarkably, Carew then finished on the same score as Whitfield (32), Nick Scourfield (31), Gareth Lewis (26) and skipper Davies 18 all chipped in with useful scores – and Llangwm had wickets from Matthew Kiff (2-28), Luke Brock (1-24), and Phil Llewellyn (1-18).

Harrison Allen Bowl Round One:

Stackpole (102 all out) lost to Narberth (192-3)

In a re-arranged Harrison Allen Bowl tie from last week, Narberth overcame Stackpole after a superb 114 not out from Aaron Keane.

Keane helped the visitors to 192-3, as Lewys Gibby (1-28), Richard Mackay (1-42), and Huw Mason (1-23) took wickets for Stackpole.

Rob Mathias made 41 in the home side’s reply, but they fell to 102 all out against the bowling of Owen Richards (4-16), Ben Hughes (3-33), Louis Davies (2-21) and Lewis Hough (1-22).
