Pembroke County Cricket Club fixtures and previews for Saturday, June 3:

Division 1 (1.30pm):

Johnston v Cresselly

A popular term for all those playing Johnston at the moment will be 'get Sutton out early and they will struggle'.

Problem is - nobody is managing to do it, and three centuries and an 80 in his last four games underline his importance to the struggling hosts.

Skipper Lee Summons is also in form with the bat, and you feel the same pair will have to excel again today if Johnston are to have any chance of picking up their first win.

Cresselly meanwhile, have dropped 36 points behind leaders Carew after a losing draw at Neyland and last week's home loss to Whitland.

They can ill afford another slip up even at this early stage, and will want their big guns back firing later to keep their title hopes on track.

Kilgetty v Carew

Overall, it has been a positive start for Kilgetty to life back in the top flight - but last week's mauling at Haverfordwest was a rude awakening.

Today will be equally as difficult against a Carew side who top the table and come in off the back of real statements of intent with wins over The Town and Neyland.

Led by in-form skipper Rhys Davies, The Rooks will start as favourites - but will be wary of a Kilgetty side that are dangerous opponents for anyone when they click.

But they will have to be at their very best to bury last week's demons and stop Carew side that travels with a load of momentum.

Neyland v St Ishmaels

Neither side will be satisfied with their league campaign thus far.

Neyland find themselves in the unfamiliar position of sixth, having notched just one outright win in their six matches.

They are 59 points off Carew, and defeat for Sean Hannon's side here would all but end their title hopes, almost unthinkable for a side we have become so used to seeing challenging for the league crown year in year out.

Tish lie just a place behind them, 25 points clear of relegation, and their failure to bowl out Pembroke after batting so well last week would have frustrated them.

Peter Bradshaw's men have not won since the opening day, and will be wary of the need for some kind of result here to avoid being dragged into a fight for survival.

Pembroke v Haverfordwest

It's been tough for rock bottom Pembroke after winning promotion last season, but they can take heart from the way they have dug in to avoid defeat in their last two games.

You feel they will need similar determination today from the likes of Jack Harries and Andrew Hay if they are to fend off The Town's varied and formidable attack.

Danny Potter's side were ruthless against Kilgetty last week, and expect them to be equally as intense with bat and ball today as they look to keep in touch with Carew.

Whitland v Lawrenny

Three wins on the bounce, including a great win over Cresselly last week, have cast aside any doubts about Whitland's early season form.

They appear to be back at full strength and will fancy their chances against a Lawrenny side in need of a result tomorrow.

The visitors go in just a place above the bottom two, but will be buoyed from chasing 234 to topple Johnston last week.

Both sides have players who can fire with bat and ball, and if the key men stand up today - we could have a great game in store.
