The Long Course Weekend in Tenby is in full swing this weekend.

This is the eighth year of the event, and the multi-sport competition is growing massively each year, with 8,500 athletes from all over the world set to take part on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

There is a multitude of distances and a special fourth medal for those that enter the Full Long Course Weekend and do the Long distance every day.

Yesterday (Friday) kicked off the full weekend with Taff Kids at 5pm and The Wales Swim at 7pm on North Beach.

Today (Saturday) is 'Bike Day' where athletes cycle either 112, 66 or 45 miles of The Wales Sportive setting off from 7am.

Sunday is the run day that rounds off the weekend - athletes will be running The Wales Marathon, The Wales Half Marathon, The Wales 10k or The Wales 5k, and all races will finish in Tudor Square in Tenby.

Also this year will be the first ever Wales Triathlon Show which will take place in Tenby Leisure Centre, The Wales Triathlon Show will open on Thursday, July 6 at 12pm to all of the public.

The show will feature over 40 exhibitors, showcasing the very best of the sport’s leading brands it provides the opportunity for visitors to see.

This weekend caters for all abilities from first timers to elite athletes.

Both elite athletes Tracy Markham and Marcus Hultgren are returning to Pembrokeshire to defend their winning 2016 titles in Long Course Weekend 2017.
