DR Morris Cup semi final:

Neyland (143 for 5) v Whitland - rained off

There was further frustration for Neyland and Whitland tonight as their re-arranged DR Morris Cup semi final was rained off at the half way stage last night (Monday).

Neyland had got off to a flying start as they sped to 29-0 in two overs, but their progress was soon checked when Paul Davies took a superb one handed diving catch to remove Paul Murray (6) off the bowling of Wayne Howells.

And after that, The Borderers did well to restrict Neyland to 143 for 5 in 20 overs, despite a hardhitting for 64 from in-form Neyland opener Patrick Bellerby.

But the final few overs were played in worsening conditions, as increasingly heavy rain descended on Cresselly.

It meant umpires Dai Morris and John Williams had little choice but to call a halt to proceedings, with the game now re-scheduled for tonight (Tuesday) at the same venue.

Also tonight, Haverfordwest will play Carew in the second semi final, which will be at the Neyland Athletic Ground.

Both games will start at 6pm.
