Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division One:

West Dragons 2
Hakin United 1

WEST Dragons came from behind to secure a famous win over champions Hakin United at the Pavilion Fields.

The visitors broke the deadlock in the 20th minute when left winger Adam John drilled a low shot into the far corner.

However, the Dragons weathered the early Vikings storm and equalised with a stunning goal in the 37th minute. Daniel Bryce’s powerful edge of the area free-kick beat Adrian Devonald, despite the Vikings’ keeper getting a hand to it.

After the break it was all Hakin as Dragons keeper Ben Henton pulled off a string of good saves to deny Nicky Woodrow, Justin Harding and a John header from point blank range.

But the hosts, who had previously lost home games against Merlins Bridge and Goodwick United, grabbed a winner on the break in the 70th minute.

Tony Evans made good ground and squared to Jordan Richards, and the striker swept his shot home from the edge of the 18 yard box to secure the win.
