West Wales Intermediate Cup Round Three:
Carew 5
Evans and Williams 0
A BRILLIANT hat-trick by Scott Ferney sandwiched between goals from brothers Sam and Jack Christopher secured a place for Carew in the last 16 of the competition at the expense of Evans and Williams.
The Carmarthenshire Premier League outfit had no answer to The Rooks’ free flowing football - as Sam Christopher broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute, the striker delightfully chipping the keeper from distance.
Five minutes later and Ferney doubled the led, striking with a low left foot finish, and just before the break he same player pounced from close range to make it 3-0.
Ferney completed his treble midway through the second period, and then Jack Christopher scored with a text-book header from a corner to complete a resounding win.
The Rooks were also solid at the back, and a clean sheet completed a job well done for Rob Scourfield's side.
Carew: Tom Davies, Tom Arthur, Jack Christopher, Sean Whitfield, Haydn Shapcott, Alex Bayley, Ian Darbyshire, Zac Rowell, Rob Whitfield, Scott Ferney, Sam Christopher. Subs: James Hinchliffe, Dan Bates, Neilson Cole.
