DYFED-POWYS step up their British Police Cup preparations on Tuesday when they face Wales Deaf Rugby at Llangennech RFC (kick-off 7.30pm).

The force squad, featuring officers from Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion, will be looking to go one step further than the last two previous campaigns when they lost in the final.

They have drawn Gloucestershire Police in the first round of this year’s competition, in a match that is due to be played in January.

The contest will also serve as excellent preparation for Wales Deaf Rugby, who face England at Bedford on February 11, 2018.

Dyfed-Powys RFC Team Manager Darren Morgan said: “We’re delighted to accept the invite from Wales Deaf Rugby. I’m sure it will be a cracking match.

“We have players from right across the force turning out so it should be a great occasion.

“It should also serve as an ideal warm-up for both teams, with each of us facing a challenge from across the bridge in the new year.”
