IT was a day of mixed fortunes for the teams from Pembrokeshire who played in the annual Scarlets Cup Finals Day staged at Parc Y Scarlets on Sunday, May 13.
A tremendous day of rugby where some of the best rugby talent in West Wales came up against each other playing from Under 12 right through to Under 16 age group levels.
The teams who reached this prestigious tournament won their own regional finals.
There were four teams from Pembrokeshire taking part, but the only team to win were Whitland U13s who defeated Carmarthen Quins.
Burry Port Under 12s beat Tenby Swifts Under 12s 24-15 in an excellent final; Tumble defeated Fishguard and Goodwick Under 14s, and in the Under 15s final Carmarthen Athletic narrowly beat Tenby Swifts 15-11, in a game that could have gone either way.
Parents, spectators and coaches alike were treated to a feast of quality rugby, and some of these players in the not too distant future could gbe back to wear the famous Scarlets’ jersey at Parc Y Scarlets.
