The county season is now in full flow with games coming thick and fast.

We’ve had a mixture of performances so far with some hard lessons learnt along the way! Recently we’ve come across some fine individual batting displays, as much as it pains me to say, from Kent's Hildreth and Denly, both posting 150’s. Any cricketer will tell you it’s always painful getting knocked out of a competition in the early stages.

With a break in the clouds, the annual day of turning another year older arrived bringing the best birthday present, our first Royal London One-Day Cup win of the season! It was nice to contribute with some tight overs with the ball. I then got to sit back and watch Ingram do what he does best along with Carlson producing a special innings, one in which he is still talking about... and so he should.

Personally I haven’t quite had the performances to get us over the line that I would’ve liked to have produced! Hopefully now a couple more knocks like the one I had against Essex, amassing 43 before being caught in deep mid-wicket just inches from the boundary rope - along with bowling some tight overs in the middle to stand us in good stead. Be that as it may, it’s always a great honour and privilege to wear the daff on the front of the shirt and to make Wales proud, which is one of our main values.

This Saturday we head to Edgbaston as we return to four-day cricket. Selection pending, I’d be up against my spin bowling mentor Jeetan Petal so it’d be ‘nice’ to put in a match winning performance.

The support that was on display in Swansea was awesome and if we could have broken a crucial partnership for Hampshire we would’ve been in a great place to win the game.

Thanks as always for the support and please come down to cheer on the boys.
