Pembrokeshire's James Tomlinson continued his meteoric rise on Sunday by qualifying for the IAAF World Junior Championships.
Discus thrower Tomlinson won gold at the England Athletics Under 20 Championships in Bedford, an event which doubled up as World Championship trials.
The Pembrokeshire Harrier threw 57.65 metres despite a strong headwind, short of the personal best throw of 58.57 he notched in Portugal earlier this month, but enough for victory and a place in the British squad for Championships in Finland next month.
“I’m really happy to come away with the win and book my place on the team,” he told Telegraph Sport.
“This will be my sixth British vest so I’m really happy with that. “
Although the winning throw was short of World U-20 qualifying distance, Tomlinson has already surpassed that mark with a personal best throw of 58.57 in Portugal earlier this month.
Just 12 months ago Tomlinson, from Pembroke Dock, won silver in the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas.
