Betws 12-19 Milford Haven

Division four west - MILFORD Haven maintained their relentless thrust for the promotion places as they travelled to Betws and came away with a big win.

They ran in no fewer than nine tries, three of them for in-form winger and former captain Craig ‘Yoda’ Thomas.

The Mariners had already beaten Betws 38-9 at home and were so on top in the first half of this return fixture that they were 33-7 in front by half time.

Thomas had already completed his try hat-trick alongside other tries for centre Ian Rusinek and winger Lee Riley, four of them converted by Tom Arnold.

All Betws could muster in return was a try from No 9 Dylan Rees, which he also converted, while Gareth Jones crossed in the second half for an unconverted try – but the Mariners added other tries by flanker Dewi Williams, hooker Craig Smith, winger Josh Smart and Lee Riley for his second in a very good season for the pacy runner.

Grant Rogers also added three conversions and Milford are still very much in the running at the top of the table.
