Clash was called off when nicely poised

Narberth (48 for 2) v Neyland (143 for 6) – Match abandoned.
The match between Narberth and Neyland was nicely poised as Narberth needed 96 runs to win with eight wickets in hand but the weather spoilt an absorbing clash.
Gregg Miller (23), Nick Koomen (41) and Paul Miller (30) were the top Neyland scorers as skipper Andrew Miller also chipped in with a late 11 not out – but they were never able to get on top as Ian Hughes bowled really tightly to claim 1 for 18 in 12 overs; Matthew Johns bowled his canny slow stuff with a 3 for 31 reward while Wayne Howells chipped in with 2 for 19.
Patrick Hannon (1 for 10) and Gary Lloyd (1 for 7) claimed early wickets for Neyland after tea as Marc Hughes led the Narberth counter-attack with 26 runs but just when it looked really interesting – along came the bad weather forecast!
Neyland’s match ball was sponsored by Neyland Town Council and South Hook LNG.
