Whitland and Carew will meet in Harrison-Allen Bowl final

Whitland have reached the Harrison-Allen Bowl final for the first time in their club’s history.
Whitland (112 for 9) beat holders Neyland (112 for 9) by just three runs in a tense semi-final played at The Racecourse.
Matthew Davies (27) was Whitland’s leading batsman with Dylan Blain (23), Paul Davies and Dai Dearden all making useful contributions. Gary Lloyd (3 for 29) returned best bowling figures for Neyland as Patrick Hannon, Andrew Miller and Henry Durrant took two wickets each.
Patrick Bellerby (29) was Neyland’s top scorer and Paul Murray (22) and Andrew Miller (15) also reached double figures. Jonathan Thomas, Mark Lee and Matthew Davies took two wickets apiece as Whitland grabbed a famous win.
Carew (148 for 5) beat last year’s finalists Haverfordwest (137 for 9) in another tense affair played at Imble Lane, Pembroke Dock.
Nick Scourfield was in brilliant form with the bat, scoring a majestic 60; he was well supported by Ian Sefton (34), Tim Hicks (18) and Gareth Lewis (12). Simon Holliday and Adam James took two wickets each for The Town.
Danny Potter was The Town’s best batsman, scoring 49, and there was also decent innings from teenager Dan Cole (27 not out), Ben Field (13) and Chris Phillips (12).
Carew’s leading wicket taker was Scott Helmich (4 for 38) and Tim Hicks (2 for 11), Rhys Davies (1 for 34) and Tom Davies (1 for 30) who all took vital wickets.
Carew will entertain Whitland in the final that will be played on Saturday, July 28th at Cresselly Cricket Club.
