Division Four West Amman Utd 34 Laugharne 3 AMMAN United returned to winning ways with a bonuspoint victory over Laugharne at Cwmamman Park.
It was workmanlike rather than spectacular from United, who led early with an Adrian Thomas penalty.
The visitors levelled with a similar effort before fluffing a sitter in front of the posts for the lead.
Rob James, Karl Worsfold, Tom Davies and Sean Mangan were punching holes and making the yardage for the home side, for whom new arrival Rhys Williams enjoyed a solid game at outside half as regular Rhys Thomas was sidelined with a knee injury.
Ammangrabbed the opening try after Rob James’ initial burst and Gavin Lewis’ neat crossfield kick found Karl Worsfold out on the wing, who gathered and touched down.
Thomas converted and added more points before the break after Sean Mangan’s forward burst yielded a penalty against a Laugharne side depleted by a yellowcard for a high tackle.
Amman sent on fresh legs in the second half in the shape of Ioan Davies and Chris Rees.
The lead was increased when scrum-half Ryan Williams’ quickly-tapped penalty gave busy hooker Doug Jenkins the chance to crash over between the posts.
After Thomas’ conversion, Amman found themselves 20-3 ahead when Joel Foster’s lightning break offered up a try on a silver platter for sub Chris Rees.
United went in search of a bonus-point try and it finally arrived when they broke through the visiting defence thanks to a midfield burst from Ryan Williams.
The supporting Adrian Thomas gave new boy Rhys Williams the glory of touching down and Thomas maintained his unblemished conversion record.
Laugharne were unlucky not to grab a late consolation but a last-gasp tackle denied them.

Amman are away to Betws this Saturday.
