WALES will speak to Alex Cuthbert about his behaviour after a video emerged showing the wing having an angry confrontation with a member of the public in Cardiff city centre.

The 24-year-old is shown throwing away a mobile phone before exchanging words with its owner and in which he says, "It's gone mate. What are you going to do?"

The incident happened in December when he was not in Wales camp and, while it is hardly the most explosive of events, coach Rob Howley says the Lions man will be spoken to by the management team.

"We're aware of it (the video)," said the former scrum-half. "All of our players are reminded of their conduct in public.

"It happened in the third week of December, he wasn't on Wales duty. But it's a constant reminder to us all – current players, ex-players, coaches – that your conduct in public is vital. We are going to speak to Alex about that incident."

Cuthbert is under pressure for his Wales spot as George North is back in the mix for selection against France a week on Saturday.

He was left out of the squad that beat Scotland 26-23 last weekend and Liam Williams impressed on the left flank. Leigh Halfpenny is a shoo-in at full-back and three into two won't go.

"It's always a huge selection," said Howley. "Liam in particular played well at the weekend and has the ability to beat a player, his work rate off the ball was very good and his kicking game was very effective.

"We've got the luxury of having the choice of three players who have played for us many times along with Hallam Amos, who has been playing well for the Dragons.

"We feel that we are nice and strong in that position. It's going to be a tough selection early next week."

France will be without Pascal Pape for the clash with Wales after the Stade Francais lock was suspended for 10 weeks for kneeing Ireland's Jamie Heaslip in the back in Les Bleus' loss in Dublin.

Referee Wayne Barnes showed him a yellow card but a disciplinary committee decided it merited a red and have banned him for the rest of the Six Nations.
