Another glorious day beckoned in Beijing after John Stubbs won a second Paralympic Games archery gold medal for Great Britain.

Archer Danielle Brown and cyclist David Stone won Britain's first two gold medals of day seven before Stubbs triumphed at the Olympic Green Archery Field.

The 43-year-old from Warrington won the men's individual compound open with a narrow victory over Alberto Simonelli.

The Briton, who had most of his right leg amputated following a road accident at the age of 24, hit the golden maximum area eight times to his Italian opponent's six to record a 116-111 victory in his first Paralympics.

It was Britain's 36th gold of the Games, moving them two behind China in the medal table.

Brown, from Lothersdale, North Yorkshire, secured an emphatic 14-point victory over Japan's Chieko Kamiya in the final of the women's open individual compound at the Olympic Green Archery Field.

The 20-year-old world champion shot six maximums into the gold target to her opponent's one for Britain's first title of day seven.

Rachel Morris, Stone and Sarah Storey won their respective time-trials on the first day of road cycling at Ming Tomb Reservoir on day six and the success continued on day seven.

Britain won 12 out of 13 events entered at the Laoshan Velodrome track earlier this week and have dominated the cycling.

Stone rode to his second victory in two days with a powerful performance. The 27-year-old Leeds-based rider, who has cerebral palsy and uses a tricycle, crossed the line in 45 minutes 05.33 seconds, 3mins 27.52secs ahead of his nearest challenger to win the mixed individual road race CP1/CP2 title.
