Walwyns Castle School reunion Saturday June 13th was certainly a day to remember for past pupils of the school there. It saw people travel from Scotland, Kent and Milton Keynes to attend the celebrations on a glorious day in a perfect setting. It began with lunch on the lawn, followed by a re-enactment of former school life. This took place in church, with the children performing admirably. Cllr John George of St Davids opened the proceedings with his memories of school life in Walwyns Castle leaving school there at the age of 15. Jean Griffiths formerly of Hooks Farm also recalled her family’s thoughts and memories.

Hubberston WI A trip to Aberglasni was enjoyed by members on May 14th and was followed by a visit to an antique centre in Llandeilo.

At Neyland local fun quiz recently at St Clements Hall £130 was raised for the Paul Sartori Foundation.

Walwyns Castle School The photograph is of pupils and teachers of Walwyns Castle School in 1956 some four years before its closure. The first school was established in the 1600's but of course comprehensive records began with the logbook in 1875.

Thirty years sterling service by Mr H G (Herbie) Scurlock as clerk and councilor of Walwyns Castle Community Council have been recognised by the unveiling of a plaque in the village hall.

Inner Wheel Club of Milford Haven At the November meeting the speaker was LaRae Wilkins who spoke about colour co-ordination. The club was represented at the Remembrance Service District Meeting and rally. Later in the month members enjoyed Christmas dinner with gifts and cards exchanged. Almost all of the tickets for the club’s 50th celebration have been sold. members will attend a church service on January 10th to mark International Inner Wheel Day throughout the world.

Walwyns Castle St James Church The carol service is on Sunday December 21st at 2.30pm. Tea and mince pies are to be served following the service in the village hall.
