WE SAY

Full of character, charm, and boasting ample interior and exterior space, this striking detached property would make an ideal family home. The property has an enviable position within Kidwelly town and just minutes on foot from Kidwelly Castle.

THE OWNERS SAY

The earliest reference to Pistyll Gwyn, Ferry Road (previously called Shoe Lane Street) was found in the Carmarthen Archives for 1753 when it was occupied by a Mr. David Jones. It is recorded that he was a land owner, living in Pistyll Gwyn but owning several other properties. He donated land for a Chapel to be built in Ferry Road and his wishes to be buried there were fulfilled on his death in 1786 and a table top tomb was erected in the Chapel graveyard.

There seems to be no further record until 1844 and then the Deeds from that time until the present day show the different occupants over the years, some of whom were ministers in the Chapel mentioned above.

My guess is that the original house from the 18th century was modified in Victorian Times. The grounds appear roughly the same ( acre) as boundary plans indicate.

COME ON IN

Having five bedrooms and ample outside space, Pistyll Gwyn would make an ideal family home. The property previously had planning consent to create two further properties within the grounds and a new application would need to be submitted to Carmarthen CC to pursue this. Either way the property has the scope and space to create any number of lifestyle choices. The 22' kitchen breakfast room has dual aspect windows and is undoubtedly the heart of the home. The study downstairs offers the chance to work inside the home, which in the current climate is a definite plus point for many. Benefitting from gas central heating, the ground floor accommodation briefly comprises: Porch, hallway, lounge, sitting room with open fireplace which connects to the dining room via folding doors. The kitchen breakfast room has double doors to the front patio, the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. There is a double bedroom, a shower room with underfloor heating, a home study, and utility room on the ground floor. Stairs from the hallway lead up to the first floor with a WC and bathroom, and four double bedrooms one of which has an en-suite bathroom with underfloor heating and has an inter-connecting dressing room. There is a second stairway from the kitchen hallway leading up to a delightful light-filled room, currently used as a library.
