AN exciting new exhibition has opened at Oriel Q, the Queens Hall Gallery in Narberth.

Stuart Evans has created a stunning exhibition entitled ‘Journey West U.S.A,’ which is based on a trip he made in 2011 from Texas to San Francisco.

Stuart drew and mapped his journey, and on his return developed these drawings and created lino prints, some on tissue paper which echo the transient nature of travel. He also produced etchings of ladders which echo the fragility of their skeletal structure.

In Oriel Fach is an exhibition of sculptures by Gideon Petersen. An artist blacksmith, Gideon has been busy with commissions, the latest being for the Welsh Assembly, the St David’s Award for Cultural Excellence and others, and a five metre high sculpture for the new art and design building in Cardiff.

He has also been producing his own work, mostly in mild steel and there are some fine examples on display in the small gallery.

The third exhibition is a collection of photographs taken by Alec James whilst travelling in Australia and New Zealand. There is also a fine collection of ceramics, jewellery and sculptures in the showcases.

The exhibitions run until November 16 and the gallery is open from 10am to 5pm Wednesday to Saturday.
