MURDER mystery fans are being invited to keep calm and carry on sleuthing at Carew Castle this weekend.

There they will find Harvey's Players, back for the third year, who will be mystifying their guests with a tangle of intrigue and dastardly deeds dished up by a range of suspicious characters in Don't Panic.

This year's castle conundrum takes on a wartime theme. The year is 1943, and Carew's annual summer highlight, the Flower and Produce Show, is in full swing.

Digging for victory has resulted in a crop of fine home-grown marrows - but then a murder is announced.

Over a buffet meal in the castle's Lesser Hall, diners will have the opportunity to question subjects individually - and should keep a look-out for Vera Lynn.

Although fancy dress is optional, lady guests are invited to come along in afternoon frocks and hats, with suits or uniforms worn by gentlemen. There will be a prize for the best Vera Lynn look-alike. The cast has been clad in original uniforms from Carew's Control Tower museum.

The murder mystery takes place this Friday and Saturday, both nights at 7pm. Ring 01646 651782 for tickets, or visit carewcastle.com for more information.
