THEATR Mwldan Film Society presents the gripping film Dogman (certificate 15) from director Matteo Garrone (Tale of Tales, Gomorrah) on Sunday, March 10 (5.40pm).
It follows the story of Marcello, a kind and simple dog groomer-cum-petty criminal. Separated from his wife, Marcello dotes on their young daughter and does his best to provide for her.
He is well liked, but becomes disastrously embroiled with a violent Rottweiler of a man who he perilously attempts to tame. When things go awry, the dog groomer seeks revenge.
Hard-hitting but beautifully composed.
“A movie with incomparable bite and strength,” says The Guardian, while The Independent writes: “Matteo Garrone's modern day fable is one of the best Italian films of recent times’
