A RETROSPECTIVE exhibition of paintings and screen-prints by Andrea Kelland, covering 60 years is currently on show at Oriel Q Gallery, Narberth.

Among the works is ‘Heron-priested Shores’, one of the paintings Andrea made for the Dylan Thomas centenary exhibitions along with ‘Above and Below’, a powerful painting made for her exhibition of the same name, which travelled to seven venues back in 1997-98, including Oriel Q.

On the top floor, ‘story-boards’ in the back room give a real insight into Andrea’s creative life.

Andrea is a long-term member of the Royal Watercolour Society of Wales .

While raising a family in Devon, she started screen-printing for some income, and then printed designs onto fabric.

When her children left home, Andrea yearned to paint again and moved to west Wales in 1998.

Now living in New Moat she exhibits mostly at the Goat Street Gallery, St Davids, and at The Golden Sheaf Gallery in Narberth.

The ‘Retrospective at 75’ show runs Wednesday to Saturday until October 26 with a ‘Meet the Artist’ session every Saturday.

Alongside Andrea’s work, there are stunning sculptures and ‘wall-works’ by Perryn Butler who lives in Haverfordwest.

Although Oriel Q closed temporarily due to lack of funding it is being kept alive by a volunteer team.
