IN Search of Beethoven is the connoisseurs’ guide to the real Beethoven behind the myth.
Watch this compelling, original and comprehensive film on Monday, December 16 (6.45pm) at Cardigan’s Theatr Mwldan.
In Search of Beethoven addresses the romantic myth that Beethoven was a heroic, tormented figure battling to overcome his tragic fate of deafness and who searched for his ‘immortal beloved’ but remained unmarried.
It delves beyond the image of the tortured, bad-tempered, unhinged personality, to reveal someone quite different and far more interesting.
The production brings together the world’s leading performers and experts on Beethoven to reveal new insights into this legendary composer.
The film has been called the best film ever made on Beethoven – and is the choice of the Beethoven Haus (Beethoven’s birthplace) as the ‘go to’ film on Beethoven.
“One of the finest movies about a great musician I’ve ever seen,” writes The Observer, while Sight and Sound says: “The music is sublime.”
Tickets are priced at £10 full price (£9 concessions) and are available now from Theatr Mwldan’s box office on 01239 621200, on-line at mwldan.co.uk or via the Mwldan app.
