THE award-winning Attic Players in Newcastle Emlyn are in the final stages of rehearsing what may be their most controversial offering yet.
‘The God of Carnage’ is a modern, dark comedy by Yasmina Reza and features two couples who have come together to deal with the unruly behaviour of their 11-year-old sons.
What should be a civilised meeting between two sets of well-to-do, professional adults quickly descends into hysteria, tantrums and…carnage.
The production is directed by Justine Dodd, who previously directed the NODA (National Operatic Dramatic Association) award-winning production of ‘Woman in Mind’ at the Attic Theatre.
"This is a play which appeals to me enormously – I’m thrilled to be working with a talented and enthusiastic cast and crew, and looking forward to giving our audiences a night they will remember for a very long time," says Justine, who stresses that this production is not for a younger audiences.
"Without giving too much away, be prepared for strong language, scenes which may shock and adult themes as well as lots of laughter."
The God of Carnage runs for a total of six performances at The Attic Theatre, Newcastle Emlyn from Thursday, April 26 to Saturday, April 28, and Thursday, May 3 to Saturday, May 5.
Tickets will be available soon from Fair & Fabulous in Newcastle Emlyn, or online direct from www.atticplayers.org.uk/
