THE feelings of Pembroke townspeople at the sight of the magnificent statue of King Henry VII recently unveiled at Pembroke Mill Bridge must be one of huge pride and patriotism, particularly as far as Linda Asman is concerned, as Linda has been the driving force behind this project.
For Linda to see the statue of Pembroke’s greatest son, King Henry VII, founder of the Welsh Tudor dynasty suitably commemorated in such splendour must have filled her heart with great satisfaction.
There can be no doubt that Linda’s grit, perseverance and persistent efforts in fundraising were instrumental in the success of her quest to bring about such a noble achievement which much stand as an inspiration to young and old alike.
May I suggest that Pembroke Town Council put Linda’s name forward to receive an accolade, in recognition of her services to the town of Pembroke.
