Proposed County Council Precept
IT WOULD seem from reports in the Western Telegraph that the county council precept could increase by 12½ per cent.
To lessen the blow some cabinet members suggest this equates to only about £2 per week on a D-rated dwelling. For cabinet members on allowances of about £30,000 (or about £2,500 per month) it could seem a small increase but for those surviving on an old age pension it is a sizeable amount with further increases from the police authority and the local community council to be added.
Please spare a thought for those who are less fortunate before you make a final decision.
