Pembroke County Cricket Club are set to investigate an incident during a division six game betweeen Lamphey seconds and Crymych seconds on Saturday.

Visitors Crymych were 63-6, chasing the home total of 131-6, when, it is understood, their two batsmen walked off the field and refused to continue.

Statements on the Crymych club Twitter page later that evening suggested that the players had walked off following criticism from the opposition over the batsmen's use of the Welsh language on the pitch.

Pembroke CCC chairman Dave Loosemoore confirmed authorities were looking into the incident, but declined to comment until the outcome of the pending investigation.

Both Lamphey CC and Crymych CC also declined to comment.
