PEMBROKESHIRE Coast National Park Authority’s (PCNPA) award-winning retro posters are going on display at Cardiff Airport for the first time.

The posters - which will also appear at railway stations between Cardiff and London, and the London Underground - are part of a ‘Wales is ready for Easter’ campaign launched at Cardiff Airport recently.

Welsh Government funding has been made available to councils in the areas worst affected by this winter’s storms to prime the tourism industry for another busy season. PCNPA received funding to roll-out its poster campaign to encourage tourists following this winter’s storms.

The Welsh Government funding was made available via Pembrokeshire County Council, which is also using the cash-injection to repair infrastructure and promote tourism.

Visit Wales chief executive Manon Williams said she hoped the poster campaign would make this a successful season for Pembrokeshire.

She added: “The extreme weather which hit the whole of the UK this winter made for a difficult start to the year for many tourism businesses.

“The Welsh Government took immediate steps with funding to help speed up repairs to damaged infrastructure that could have had a negative impact at the start of the main tourism season in Wales. These posters are a reminder of what the area has to offer visitors to Wales.”

PCNPA chief executive Tegryn Jones added: “The poster campaign has already achieved incredible success and I’m sure it will help encourage many more people to visit this wonderful corner of Wales.

“We are extremely grateful for the additional Welsh Government funding to raise the profile of the National Park and the county of Pembrokeshire as a leading visitor destination.”
