Two people were hospitalised last night after a stabbing at Fishguard's Ship and Anchor pub.

Police were called to the premises in the town's High Street at 6.20pm yesterday, Wednesday, March 21st, after they received a call saying they were having problems with a customer at the premises.

A man and a woman, believed to be the landlady of the pub and the manager of the nearby Coach House, were stabbed during the incident and were taken to Withybush Hospital.

Police said that their injuries were serious but not life threatening.

A spokesman for Withybush Hospital said that both people are in a stable condition and they are expected to make a full recovery, but will remain in hospital for the rest of the week.

A local 23-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

CID officers and a forensic team attended the scene. Police said that the pub was very quiet at the time of the incident.

Dyfed-Powys Police are keen to trace two people who were believed to be playing pool in the pub at the time of the incident.
