EAGLED-EYED visitors to Haverfordwest town centre may well have spotted some exotic-looking pigeons roosting on shop fronts.

The Haverfordwest Business Circle, in conjunction with Pembrokeshire County Council, has perched 100 spray-painted models of the birds around the county town as part of the national Support Your High Street Campaign.

“They’re all up and about, but we’ve been keeping the reason behind them secret until after Sunday’s Raft Race,” said Business Circle member Sally Williams. “We commissioned Lloyd the Graffiti Artist to spray paint five special fancy pigeons, and we’re running a competition for people to spot them. Entry forms can be picked up from any Business Circle shop.”

The winner will receive a goody bag containing vouchers worth over £200 to spend in Business Circle Shops, and the bright and beautiful birds will stay put until the end of High Street Week, which will run from September 19 to 26.
