AN independent filmmaker has returned to his Pembrokeshire roots to shoot scenes for his new movie.

Klayton Dean began filming for his latest project 'Feed The Black' at Pen-Rhiw burial chamber in Goodwick on Thursday, February 11.

The gothic horror film is about a young woman, who while dealing with the loss of her mother, is torn between two worlds – one of good and one of evil.

She turns to drugs in her weak state and during an overdose is faced with her final judgement. For the better of mankind, she has to make a choice, and that choice is a predetermined path to darkness.

Klayton, who is originally from Haverfordwest and now lives in Portsmouth, said: “With so much history throughout Pembrokeshire, alongside its breath taking views and inspiring imagery, it is a filmmaker’s perfect canvas.”

Klayton explained it was pure luck that led him and his crew to the filming location of the burial chamber.

“The location kind of fell into my lap,” he said.

“Originally, I was to shoot on an empty farm field. Upon my arrival to scout through land owned by Tom Evans of Croesgoch, he introduced me to the Colella brothers (Raff and Dom) who mentioned that they may have a piece of land that I would fine more interesting than an empty field. And with the tone and nature of the film, it made sense."

He added: "Raff and Dom got involved and were a big help in making the production happen. A big thanks to them.”

Feed The Black is due for release on June 6, 2016.
