Three women had a lucky escape from serious injury yesterday (Thursday) evening after a large tree fell on to their car on a Pembrokeshire road.
The incident happened near Narberth on the B4341 road between Princes Gate and the Crinow turn-off.
The silver BMW car was struck by the tree, which was blown down in high winds.
Police, two ambulances and a fire appliance from Narberth attended the scene following the incident at around 8.05pm.
A Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Services spokesman said that the firefighters arrived to find that the occupants of the car had managed to free themselves from the vehicle.
Firefighters administered initial first aid and ensured that the car was in a safe condition.
Two of the car occupants were taken to Withybush Hospital by ambulance for precautionary checks.
Pembrokeshire County Council closed the road for four hours following the incident to enable debris to be cleared from the road.
