A FORMER hotel in Pembroke Dock will go under the hammer in London on December 14.

The Grade II-listed Commodore Hotel in Admiralty Way is up for sale with no reserve price.

The 1.38-acre site was sold at auction in 2013 for £85,000– some £60,000 more than the guide price.

It is now back on the market as a long leasehold, with more than 900 years left on the lease, and with a ground rent of £25 a year.

Following a serious fire in 2006, the formerly grand building has stood empty.

In 2014, plans were put forward to transform a stable block at the back of the hotel into five self-contained maisonettes, and approval was given for the building of 22 flats and four town houses.

Western Telegraph:

It was built in the 1830s for the Captain-Superintendent of the Royal Dockyard, and was designed to match the building opposite.

The site is up for sale with Allsop auctioneers, but due to the condition of the building, potential buyers will not be allow to inspect the building's interior.

The auction will take place on Thursday, December 14, at The Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, London W1H 7DL.
