AT CHRISTMAS time everyone needs therapy from all the shopping, wrapping, and baking and what better remedy than sitting together and listening to children singing carols.

Pembroke Ladies Probus experienced that joy at its last meeting when members were entertained by the Pennar Community School Choir.

Only part of the choir attended due to transport limitation but that did not affect the quality of the singing which was outstanding.

The children were totally focused on their conductor Clare Thomas and quite impressive was the fact that all lyrics had been memorised.

Debbie Kaijaks accompanied them on the piano and it was plain to see all the hard work that had been invested by both staff and children.

They sang a variety of carols mixing familiar traditional such as Silent Night and We Three Kings with upbeat modern ones Past 3-o-clock, Everyday like Christmas, and What Can We Give To The Son Of Maria.

It was wonderful to hear such beautiful singing which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Many thanks are extended to Headteacher Damon McGarvie, Clare, Debbie, and of course the children.

After the singing refreshments were provided and each child was presented with individually sewn Christmas stockings filled with treats. These had all been created by Probus's Little Elves i.e. the committee!

Following the departure of the children the Ladies were given an impromptu scarf tying demonstration by Jennifer Gorman which was not just helpful but great fun. For the Ladies Probus that was Christmas all tied up.

The AGM will be held at the next meeting on January 17.
