People are still without water in some areas of north Pembrokeshire today (Monday).

There are reports of problems with water supply yesterday afternoon, with some being without suppply all weekend.

‘Network issues’ were affecting drinking water in homes in Mathry, Croasgoch, Solva, St Davids and surrounding areas of Haverfordwest.

Dwr Cymru said that a team was on site repairing a damaged water main and thought water would return to normal later on Sunday night.

Llanrhian county councillor Neil Prior updated residents via Facebook.

“As the water outage continues I just wanted to let people know that I have been in contact with Dwr Cymru, who have given various reasons for the outage over the last 48 hours from burst mains, to failing pumps, to low levels in reservoirs. Having just spoken to their head office I'm told that the main St Davids’ supply zone is suffering from intermittent & low pressure so water is being tanked in to the network. They are working flat out to fix the problems across something like 4,500 homes across Wales.

“I have asked for water to be delivered in our area and I'm also in contact with Pembrokeshire CC's emergency planning teams who are keeping me up to date with the situation.

“I haven't been given a timescale for the fix but clearly this is now becoming very difficult for a number of people.

Bottled water was being given out at Letterston Memorial Hall today.

Further north another burst water main is affecting drinking water in Crymych, Glouge and Llanfyrnach area.

It is expected to return to normal later this evening. A team is currently on site repairing it.

A statement on Dwr Cymru Welsh Water’s website reads: “We are still really busy dealing with impact of the severe weather over the last few days to help ensure we can maintain water supplies. Due to the thaw, we’re expecting some disruption to our services over the next few days. We are working as quickly as is safely possible to resolve issues as they occur.”
