THE TEAM which looks after Broad Haven’s Boardwalk is looking for entrants to take part in an art competition.

The Boardwalk Through Young Eyes competition open to everyone under 18 years old, and any submissions must be made before August 31.

David Meanwell, of the Support the Boardwalk group, said the nature of the slashpond had been inspirational this spring.

“As a community group we seek to raise the profile and appeal of the Boardwalk and Slashpond area through special activities and by creating an ongoing all year round experience.

“The Birds of the Boardwalk Art installation has spawned new interest as well as bird listening and ID walks with the school and art sessions back in the classrooms.

“So given the opportunity how would you capture the special nature of the area? In word, through art or by song? Please do let us know how you are inspired.”

The competition has three categories: under 11s, 11-14 years, 15-18 years.

Any artistic medium can be used, except for photographs or computer generated images.

Winners will be given a £25 cash prize, and selected entries will be displayed on banners around the boardwalk.

All entries will be exhibited during the May half term week from May 28, at Broad Haven village hall.

To take part in this exhibition, deliver your artwork to Rafters (above the hall) on Wednesday, May 23 between 3pm and 6pm.
