A friend of a young woman seriously injured in an alleged assault that saw five people arrested last week has revealed the extent of the injuries she suffered.

Posting on Facebook, Karen Ann Jeffrey, a friend of Holly Taylor Weston, said she had permission from Holly to post hospital scans of the injuries.

The images show extremely serious injuries to an eye.

It is understood the eye could not be saved.

Karen wrote: "The hospital are now having to build a model of her head as her own facial bones are too damaged to reconstruct her face."

The message has the hashtag justiceforholly which is being shared widely on social media.

The incident happened overnight between Tuesday 3 and Wednesday July 4.

Armed police swooped in the Courts area of Haverfordwest to make five arrests on Wednesday morning.

Two 28-year-old women, a 28-year-old man and a 27-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating.

Following the incident residents in the Gerald Road area staged a protest after is was thought some of those arrested had attempted to move back into the area.
