KEEPING Faith star, Eve Myles spent a day at a St Clears charity Ladies Day event to help raise an astonishing £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Ty Hafan.

The Welsh actress officially opened the July 8 red-carpet fundraiser at Llety Cynin in St Clears, where she made the audience laugh by inviting the whole crowd back to her place in Cardiff for a party afterwards.

This is the ninth year of the Ladies Day fundraising event organised by local women - Anna Tee, Rebecca Burton, Gwawr Davies, Elizabeth Davies and Pam Windsor, raising a phenomenal £50,000 over that time.

Anna Tee, who is also a partnership manager for Macmillan in Wales, said: “Our ninth Ladies Day was a total blast. The sun was shining, the food was great and we hope everyone had a wonderful day.

“Eve was fabulous, she was so kind and generous and everyone had a real giggle, our heartfelt thanks to her for joining us.

“Guests told me that they had had a lovely afternoon and that the event had a fantastic atmosphere. One lady said that that Ladies Day was an opportunity to spend a relaxing time with the gorgeous ladies in her family, and that in itself was real a treat, something we don’t usually have the time to do.

“The whole thing is only possible because local businesses sponsor the event and local ladies come and support it so a huge thank you to them. All money raised is donated to cancer charities, my personal thanks to Elizabeth and Gwawr from Llety Cynin for hosting us for free, to Rebecca for her phenomenal organising skills and to Pam for her hard work over previous years.”
