THE UPPER School classes at Portfield School have raised £100 by baking cakes and serving teas and coffees to paying customers at a Fair Trade Café.

It was decided that the money should go to the orphans at Caring Heart Breakthrough Ministries orphanage and school just outside Kampala, Uganda.

Caring Heart never turns away a child in desperate need but also often struggles to provide books and equipment for the school and even accommodation and food for the growing numbers of children (over 1,300) who need it.

“This donation will be very gratefully received and put to extremely good use” said Kate Theobald, who received the cheque on behalf of the charity.
