VANDALS who broke in to Oakwood Theme Park, causing £1,000 worth of damage, have been labelled ‘evil monsters’.

Police say the damage happened sometime between 8.30pm on Monday, August 20, and 5.30am on Tuesday.

A door and window were smashed, and the damage is expected to cost over £1,000 to fix.

Posting on Facebook, a concerned member of the public wrote: “Well I hope you are pleased with yourselves you absolute [deleted]...breaking into Oakwood last night and smashing all the windows in the Whistle-stop railway café, then smashing up all the lighting for the Oakwood After Dark entertainment...you evil monsters.

“Do you know how much work goes into getting all that put together?...you will be found, and you will be punished.”

The post added: “If you know of anyone that was involved do the right thing and call the police; they must have had a car to get out there.”

Posting on Twitter yesterday, August 21, Oakwood Theme Park wrote: “Sadly we were broken into last night with damage to some of our windows.

“Thankfully we are open as usual. Following thorough checks there is no compromise on safety and we are working with the police to get this sorted as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding.

“Everything is completely fine with the rides.”
