AN INJURED climber has been flown to hospital after being rescued from cliffs near St Govan’s Chapel.

Coastguard rescue teams from St Govan and Tenby rescued the man at 6.53pm last night (September 5) after he had fallen while climbing.

The man was checked for injuries by the coastguards who found him, and was airlifted by helicopter because of the difficult location.

The coastguard helped the helicopter team attach a winch to hoist the climber aboard from a rock platform below.

The 40-year-old is thought to have suffered leg and head injuries, and was treated at Morriston Hospital, Swansea.
