A 4,000-mile charity motorcade in aid of Prostate Cancer UK is to start in Pendine and finish in Tenby.

The 19-day event, being organised by the Jaguar E-type Club, will be flagged away from its starting point at Pendine Sands tomorrow (Monday September 17) by land-speed record-breaker, Don Wales.

Don is the grandson of two of Britain's greatest land and water speed record-holders. Sir Malcolm Campbell and nephew of Donald Campbell.

His own achievements include setting the UK speed record for an electric car and the world speed record for a ride-on lawnmower.

He has agreed to support the charity event after recently undergoing successful treatment for prostate cancer. Said Don: "I am delighted to be part of this fabulous event and honoured to be flagging off the entrants from Pendine Sands, where my grandfather set his first world land speed record.

The Round Britain Coastal Drive in aid of Prostate Cancer UK was originally created in 2016 and raised £150,000 in its first two years alone.

Its 19 individual stages, each of around 180 miles, will be driven by groups of Jaguar E-types in the style of a relay. It will head as far north as John O'Groats and as far south as Land's End, before concluding in Tenby on October 5.
