AN EVENT that brings together police, fire and various other agencies to inform and educate young people is celebrating 25 years.

Every year Crucial Crew provides safety information to around £1,400 schoolchildren, from understanding basic first aid, road and coastal safety to recognising domestic abuse situations and online awareness.

Children are guided through realistic scenarios that test their knowledge and promote the importance of staying safe.

Agencies involved include the police, fire and ambulance services, the RNLI, Western Power, road safety, domestic abuse, and food safety experts. and Western Power.

A celebratory banner, created by Wriana Samsam - formerly of St Mary’s RC School, Pembroke Dock - heralds this November's event.

County councillor Phil Baker, cabinet member for planning and infrastructure, said: “I am delighted that once again Pembrokeshire’s young students will have the opportunity to learn important life skills at Crucial Crew.

“I would like to thank both our sponsor and the agencies taking part in this, the 25th year. Congratulations to all involved.”
