A Pembroke man made every ‘effort to change his ways’ after police discovered his stash of Class A, B and C drugs, a court has heard.

Nathan Andre Sheldon Walker, of Colley Court, Monkton, pleaded guilty to four charges of drug possession when he appeared before Haverfordwest magistrates on Tuesday, September 18.

Vaughan Pritchard-Jones, prosecuting, told the court that Walker, 21 was found to be in possession of a small amount of cannabis when he was arrested for a motoring offence in Pembroke on January 22.

Police then searched his home address and discovered 28.55 grams of cannabis, 7.53 grams of cocaine, 1.74 grams of MDMA and 3.95 grams of Pregabalin.

Mr Pritchard-Jones said: “He made a full admission in interview. He said they were his and all for his personal use, and there is nothing to suggest anything to the contrary.”

Mike Kelleher, defending, said Walker had been depressed at the time of the offence, having broken up with his long-term girlfriend and suffered a bereavement.

“Unfortunately he fell into taking drugs, and took more than was good for him.”

Mr Kelleher added that Walker had since stopped taking drugs and was keeping fit by going to the gym.

“He is making every effort to change his ways.”

Magistrates fined Walker £140 and ordered him to pay £85 court costs, plus a £30 surcharge.

The chairman of the bench said: “We have been heartened to hear how you have turned your life around since January, and now seem to be on the right track.”

A destruction order was made for the seized drugs.
