A NEW water fitness craze has bounced its way into Pembrokeshire.

Instructor David Maund has become the first person in Wales to introduce Hydrojump, and it's currently springing into life at Narberth Pool.

The concept sees participants taking to the water for an exercise regime that involves them using small underwater trampolines.

"I saw the trampolines at a fitness convention a couple of years ago, and thought they would be a great addition and something different to offer," said David, whose Hydrorider Aquacyling have been popular in west Wales for the past four years.

"Hydrojump enables people of all ages to enjoy the benefits of water exercise with a bit of added extra fun.

"Great results can be achieved in terms of physical training, weight loss, body balance and toning, and there's also the benefit of it being a zero impact exercise which is great for those with knee or hip problems. There's been some really good feedback from the classes."

David - an ultra walker who this year has tackled the Carmarthenshire Coast Path, the Devon Coast to Coast, the Cotswold Way and the Wye Valley - is also taking Hydrojump classes at Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn and Aberaeron.

The Narberth sessions take place on Fridays at 6pm and 6.30pm. Booking is essential through Hydrojump Dragon on Facebook.
